Arab tourists including Saudis have fun in Indonesia by 'temporary marriage'
International Desk
Tourists from other countries in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, are enjoying themselves by temporarily marrying poor women in the Indonesian countryside.
The South China Morning Post reported this information in a report on Thursday (October 3).
It is said that most tourists from Arab countries go to Puncak in Indonesia. They can get married there temporarily. For this the cabin has to be paid. As long as the tourist stays in Indonesia, he treats the woman in 'temporary marriage' as his wife. Then get divorced before leaving the country.
The media reported that male tourists in the hill resort of Kota Bunga were introduced to local women through brokers. Then the brokers make all the arrangements for the temporary marriage.
When both parties agree, the marriage is arranged in a very quick time. Then the male tourist has to pay for the cabin.
According to the US media Los Angeles Times, this unethical temporary marriage boosted Puncak's tourism sector. There are many tourists. Most of them come from Middle Eastern and Arab countries.

Earlier many poor families used to arrange these temporary marriages by introducing their daughters to tourists. But these are now done by brokerage firms.
A young woman named Kahaya told the Los Angeles Times that she started making temporary marriages in exchange for money when she was only 17 years old. Married more than 15 men so far. All of whom are tourists and residents of the Middle East.
She said her first husband was a 50-year-old Saudi citizen. The Saudi gave him 850 dollars as a cabin. But half of this money was taken by a broker. On the other hand, their marriage lasted only five days.
Such temporary marriages were common among Shia Muslims. But now they are calling this marriage unethical.
